Safe and Supported: The National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2021-2031 has been released

The National Coalition on Child Safety and Wellbeing welcomes the release of Safe and Supported: The National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2021-2031 (Safe and Supported: The National Framework).

A copy of Safe and Supported: The National Framework can be accessed HERE or obtained directly from the Department of Social Services’ website via the following link. The National Coalition Steering Group’s media statement on Safe and Supported: The National Framework can be accessed HERE.

The Community Services Ministers’ Meeting Communiqué is available HERE.

As the principal engagement and representative body of the non-government and research sectors for the National Framework, the National Coalition stands alongside Commonwealth, State and Territory governments to support a second decade of action to improve child safety and wellbeing.

Acknowledging the release of Safe and Supported,  it is important to note that Action Plans supporting implementation of the framework are still under development and are expected to be finalised in the first half of 2022.

It is vital that the National Coalition, alongside the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Leadership group, play a central role in determining commitments, priorities, targets and evaluation mechanisms within action plans, ahead of their adoption. Governments have committed to this.

We will keep you posted, and actively seek your involvement in, the consultative processes established in 2022.
