Families Australia is commencing a casual vacancy election process to fill three positions on the Board, following the conclusion of service of three board members after the 2025 AGM.
This is an opportunity to contribute to national leadership at an important and exciting time for Families Australia and the sector. Board members help guide our strategic direction, strengthen governance and support our work to influence policy and systems for children, young people and families across Australia.
Eligibility
Under Clause 23 of the Families Australia Constitution, Board nominees must be nominated by a General Member organisation of Families Australia to be eligible for election.
Key Dates
The Families Australia Board next meets on Thursday 5 March 2026. The following timeframes seek to have the election process finalised on 27 February – enabling the successful candidates to attend the 5 March board meeting:
- Nominations open: Wednesday 4 February
- Nominations close: Monday 16 February
- Voting opens: Wednesday 18 February
- Voting closes: Thursday 26 February
- Results announced: Friday 27 February
Successful candidates will serve on the Board until the 2026 AGM and will be eligible to nominate for a full three-year term at that time.
