National Coalition on Child Safety and Wellbeing Annual Meeting 2023
The National Coalition on Child Safety and Wellbeing hosted our 2023 Annual Meeting on Thursday 1 June 2023.The meeting was well attended by approximately 100 participants. We would like to extend a warm thank you to our keynote presenters for their excellent presentations:

Safe and Supported Working Groups
We are seeking expressions of interest from National Coalition members wanting to contribute their experience and expertise to Safe and Supported Working Groups. The working groups will address actions across both Safe and Supported: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander First Action Plan 2023-2026 andSafe and Supported: First Action Plan 2023-2026. Weanticipate the broad subject areas for the working groups will be as follows:
• Workforce (including ATSICPP)
• Accountability and data
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander System leadership; and
• Working together to support children and families (encompassing legal supports, social determinants, early support, OOHC, carers and disability).
Your engagement can be on one of two levels:
• contribution towards National Coalition Safe and Supported Working Group positions; or
• for subject matter experts, a potential direct representation role.
To submit an EOI for either level of engagement* please send an email with the subject line ‘EOI Safe and Supported Working Groups’. Your EOI should indicate which working group you would like to contribute to, and include a short (100 word) statement outlining your relevant skills and experience. Please send the email to policy@familiesaustralia.org.au by close of business Tuesday, 20 June 2023.
*Please note: If you are considering submitting an EOI for a potential direct representation role please note that the commitment to Working Groups is for a minimum of one year, with the potential to extend through to the end of the first Safe and Supported Action Plans. Meeting frequency is likely to be approximately 6 weekly. Representatives will need to allow time for the meeting as well as pre-meeting consultations and post meeting debriefs with the Steering Group/ Convenor.

Families Australia have a small supply of hard copies of the Safe and Supported Action Plans. If you would like to request up to 2 hard copies for your organisation, please email your request through to policy@familiesaustralia.org.au and provide your postal address.
